K – Out of Luck

‘Out of Luck’ is a collaboration between Katya Kischuk aka ‘K’, Producer Sega Bodega, and Co-Writer Shygirl. K’s first musical output since the release of 22K in 2019 (her debut solo album, preceded by a stint in girl group ‘Serebro’) comes with an accompanying music video helmed by a female-led team, director Anna Himma and DoP Alyssa Trawkina.

The video takes us on an unhinged journey of processing and letting go of the past while embracing the wild raging moments in between.

Anna and me travelled to London and started shooting almost straight away. It was a very unconventional energetic setup. Anna knew where and what she wanted to shoot but we also agreed to surrender to what happens and capture the moment from as many perspectives as possible. Our approach was to mix a classic mesmerizing image with rougher digicam and VHS footage that felt more like a nostalgia real life documentation. It was supposed to radiate the bittersweet contrast of how things might look on the outside vs. our internal struggles. This unhinged fight back to herself was emphasized in post by glitching between moments of K’s journey.
