The »BUNNY Trilogy« is a short film trilogy that started two years ago in 2019 with my first ever short film shot using Super 8 film stock. It was called »BUNNY« and I was taking part in the famous Straight 8 competition. By then, I was sure that the film was a one-off. Some months after the release of »BUNNY« the idea was born to create a second chapter. It was called »Come Here, My Dear!« and released in spring 2020. Now, with the third and final chapter called »If You Had Known« the trilogy is complete.
What makes the »BUNNY Trilogy« so special is that every film can be considered a chapter that works on its own, but also adds to the overall story and cosmos. A lot of things are deliberately left unexplained, so the mystery is never fully resolved. Following the tradition of silent films there is no dialog at all, thus the story is told through visuals, sound and music only. The connection between the chapters is very loose and established by the characters, returning key elements and the visual style.
Make sure to check out the other two films of the trilogy. I really like to invite everyone to come up with own interpretations. As I don’t know the truth myself, feel free to let me know what you think.
