DANGEROUS is mountain biking short film shot over two days at Highland Mountain Bike Park starring Cameron Mader. Produced in collaboration with Mutt Society a non profit focused on getting young athletic talent professional content to further excel their careers / passions.

This film idea started with a email chain between myself, Mutt Society & pro mountain bike racer Cameron Mader. One of Mutt Society’s objectives as a non profit is to provide professional content to further excel the careers & passions of their sponsored riders. With the summer of 2021 being so busy with work it was hard to get time chiseled out for this one but we made it happen in late August.

Working with Cam was an epic experience to say the least. Its one thing to see his riding online but its a whole nother experience to see it in person… The speed and amplitude of his riding was incredible.

Going into this film the budget was minimal but I knew I wanted to showcase the speed and intensity of Cams riding. With an FPV drone and op outside the financial plan I needed a rig that was solid and rigid to handle a large cine zoom.

I decided the best route was to let Cams riding do the talking. Keeping the camera on sticks and focusing on shots that required difficult pan, tilt, zoom and focus moves. Luckily I had my first AC Erik Ljungholm with me on both days. Erik did an incredible job hitting focus along with the appropriate zoom speeds on the lens. Zooming and pulling simultaneously.
