All Muses Are Dead

A critique to the idealisation of the woman-muse and society’s fetishisation of the female image in favour of the liberation of the female creative force and gaze. Created by an all-female crew, each artist contributed their unique artistic views and personalities to the initial concept, offering their own interpretations.
The film intends to initiate a conversation between different types of female perspectives: directorial, performative, editorial, and musical.

Director's Statement

This film was inspired by my studies and cinematic interests, but, first of all, by my female colleagues, and the fantastic women I encountered on set. My intent was to create a film highlighting the struggles of being taken seriously as a female auteur and artist in a world that primarily views us as silent sources of inspiration for men. It’s a film about decolonizing the female body, reclaiming our image, and becoming our own muses.
