With is a short fiction/documentary hybrid film, following the ‘WITH Section’ skate crew, as they journey to a hidden skate bowl located within the depths of England. The film mixes both documentary and narrative elements, offering an intimate and meditative insight into the strong friendship and bond amongst the skaters, as they proceed towards their final destination.

WITH Section

The inception of the film was rooted in my desire to connect with my roots; coming from a skating background – my goal was to offer a raw and intimate insight into the lives of skateboarders, who are on a constant search of discovery. The film highlights the strong friendship and bond amongst the skaters as they journey towards their one common goal.

We shot the film in two days, with a skeleton crew on location in the South West of England – although the film was carefully planned and shot listed, a sense of freedom was offered allowing the group to improvise, leading to beautiful and authentic moments being captured within the group. One of the most important elements was to offer the group a feeling of safety and comfort whilst shooting leading to a strong sense of realism within the film.
