During the “refugee crisis” in the year 2016 I talked to many young African men who came to Germany in the hope to find a better future. Some did but some stranded in a state of isolation, regret and longing for home. It was hard for them to embrace new opportunities and be open for new relationships because they left behind everything they loved. Together with the dancer Freddy Houndekindo I wanted to explore this feeling of isolation and loss.
