The story behind the film

I conceived of the idea back in 2016; I wanted to produce a project with a design aesthetic that paid homage to the retro games and style of the 1980s, which I have a fondness for, as well as a narrative that showcases a simple yet effective chase scenario.

I worked on the project on and off since then; it underwent many revisions and re-writes in the story for the first year and a half, by 2018 I ‘cracked’ the structure and knew where to take the narrative. As I had a job and many other commitments, I worked on the project in my free time as much as I could, since the middle of 2019 I worked on it more thoroughly, making further tweaks as I went along.

I was most privileged to work with a fellow creative collaborative of mine, named Ope Yusuf, who I regularly had meetings with to discuss the possibilities of a ‘retro-esque’ score for the film. He provided me with an excellent arrangement that perfectly captures the fun and edgy tone that I was after, as well as an ‘off-the-wall’ theme that gives the film it’s own identity.

After 4 years and 10 months of back and forth development, the project was finished in December 2020; story, animation, sound, editing and music. I hope you enjoy the film as much as I’ve enjoyed crafting it with heart and excitement.
