One Soul

A silent, poetic journey through three lives — a warrior, a maid, a modern woman — each caught in a loop of quiet repetition. Different eras, same rhythm. Their motions rhyme across time, dressed in the language of their age. Wordless, but resonant. A meditation on identity, time, and the threads that bind us beneath the costume of centuries.

I used prompts around a strongly painterly and “scratchy” art style. Their are limited hues in each scene.

I endeavored to have consistent characters in this film. I decided to utilize Veo Flow, by Google, to create the animations. I created the start and sometimes end frames using ChatGPT. GPT has a really useful ability to take images and generate using same style, modify and move forward. This really helped to create more consistent characters. I spent a lot of time thinking about and working on composition and style, so I could ensure the images generated met the aesthetic I wanted. I mostly used Veo 2 fast model, which meant the budget of this film was around £12. Although there was a lot of trial and error around the output videos, I’d say a 60% at least rejection rate. By keeping a clear focus, limited description for each scene, it was able to keep to my vision.
