I have been making films and writing scripts since I was a little kid, but I was never quite able to make a project I was truly proud of and that felt like what I was seeing in my head — but Interstate is the first thing that approaches that feeling. I am extremely proud of it. We made this for almost no budget, a team of young artists working extremely hard for months to get it out. I am so proud of how polished and high quality it feels despite its humble background. I hope to get this film to a wider audience of young artists in order to inspire others to go out and make that thing they’ve been yearning to create but don’t feel confident enough to. I felt creatively paralyzed for so long and this freed me. In the best-case scenario, this film frees another young creator to create the project they’ve been thinking about.
