DESERTERS
DESERTERS is a contemplative short film that visually explores the anti-climatic act of trying to listen to one’s deepest sense of self.
‘Deserters’ are those who consciously choose to surrender. They listen to the unspoken voice of their body’s sensations and patiently retrieve memories and feelings. They stop running from themselves and find out what they were actually running from.

The story behind the film
We wanted to make a film about disinvesting energy from this mad world. We used a friend’s house in the countryside and gathered loved ones to cast them in the video. After a couple of days, the intimacy that everybody descended into allowed us to capture real moments that could visually serve our purpose.
We loved the process so much, we are planning future projects to just re-experience this.
