Anomalie

Hendrik Laurens is a pioneer in the field of neurobiology. Thanks to his invention, regions of the brain can be virtually mapped, measured and researched. Initially, only partial areas  will be simulated, later whole brains, from small to large ones: Rat, cat, monkey, man.

This raises a number of concerns, both in Laurens’ team and in his estranged family. For however efficient brain simulation may be, it is above all one thing: The grasp for consciousness. When Laurens receives an offer to experiment in America on the fringes of his field, he sees his hour has come. And for that every sacrifice is welcome.
