There are seasons when the brush goes still. When life, in its heaviness, quiets the impulse to create. But even in silence, something stirs. Healing isn’t always loud — sometimes it’s in the simple act of beginning again. Again, I Paint is a portrait of that return. Of finding yourself not where you left off, but somewhere softer, deeper. This is not about mastery. It’s about memory, movement, and the courage to make marks after losing your way. Each stroke is a gesture of becoming — not who you were, but who you are now, unfolding.

When color stirs beneath the surface, it reveals more than paint — it uncovers the artist’s journey through healing, identity, and rebirth.

ARTIST BIO

Courtney Alexandra is a conceptual designer, creator, and artist originally from Mississippi, now based in Austin, TX. From childhood, she has had a passion for painting and photography. As a mixed media artist, her Degree in Architecture has shaped her artistic approach. Experience as a designer influences how each piece is viewed as a holistic design, taking into account material choices, composition, narrative, and presentation. Every detail is thoughtfully considered.

ARTIST STATEMENT

The beginning of every artistic journey is an opportunity to express my ideals, reflecting my current life path. My art serves as an open diary, a window into my intimate thoughts and perspectives. Each piece is a collection of my experiences brought to life on canvas through mixed media.

The interplay of color and texture—using ink, oil, and watercolor—creates a vibrant dialogue. I strive to evoke an array of emotions while exploring themes of human connection, the complexities of love, the uniqueness of the black experience, and the journey of self-reflection.
